NBM Cabinet Software

 NBM cabinet software is Computer Aided Design (CAD) software that is parametric (change the width/height of the box, and all the horizontal/vertical parts change in length) and will provide the machine information to perform all the manufacturing functions. This information is then converted to numeric code by Computer Aided Machine (CAM) software. There are so many software companies offering different ways to accomplish the preceding, the choice can be daunting. The key considerations are:

• Does the software minimize the opportunity for human error by providing complete information to the machine without operator intervention?
• Does the CAD software offer the tools to make changes easily and are those changes dynamic through machine code generation? Another way to put this is: How many steps does the CAD engineer have to oversee in order to change the machine code output after a design change?
• Does the software provide an accurate cut list for all of the parts and can they be sorted by which go to the router and which go to the hand shop?
• Can all the software requirements be met by a single company or are you manually out putting information from company A to company B to company C etc..?

• Where does your current software fit in the mix? Does it output machine code? Does it output in a compatible format to be input to “company B” software to generate machine code and is that code generation of “company B” automated or manual. Finally, does “company B” have compatible working POST software for the machine you plan to use?
